Default A couple from AZ

Hello to all,
We look forward to being members of this forum and taking advantage of everyone's experiences!

My wife and I are approaching retirement which we had planned to spend in our 32 foot Class A (gas) motorhome. However, we've had some health issues and decided to downsize to a B-plus, mostly for the difference in ride as my wife cannot tolerate the "rough" ride in our Class A. We have test driven a B-plus (Itasca Viva) and really like the layout and the ride, and will be looking at some others, too.

The one question I'll be asking, when I find the right place to ask it, is: are there any sources for alternate seats for the driver and passenger? I'm looking for seats that have built-in heat, are easily adjusted, ideally powered, and also have "air ride", which I've seen in trucker seats.

Welcome to the forum jimaz!

I can't say much to your seat question other than to say your options are few for after-market ones from the limited discussion on this and other forums. Many new chassis have built in seat air bags which complicates finding a replacement.

However, while seat comfort is very individual perception, if you and your wife like the ride of smaller rvs it is more likely air-suspension won't be a high priority. Check as many units as you can sit in and drive. Maybe there's one out there in a Ford Transit or Mercedes Sprinter that suits you both.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input, builtin airbags would complicate things. The dealer had suggested installing air-bag suspension, but I'm completely unfamiliar with that. Perhaps just installing heaters in the seats will suffice.

If the air bag issue doesn't trip you up check at truck dealers for air seats. If they are still available get one with a Motion Master shock. It's about a $3-400 option but is awesome. I sat in a seat with a Motion Master shock for about 750,000 miles and never once topped or bottomed out.

You are on your own for fitting it in, maybe hit up a fab shop to make a custom mounting platform.
