Is there a log-in time-out ?

I have typed a pretty long post (twice) and when I tried to send I got a msg saying I wasn't logged in: so I logged in again and my msg was gone.

That doesn't happen on RVLIFE's IRV2 forum, so I'm confused...

If you leave the posting screen for any reason, your message tends to disappear. So I always highlight all and hit copy. Then if it is telling you to log in, go do that. Re-open a message screen and hit paste. The basic copy/paste move.

You can use your email program or word processor to compose a draft than cut and paste into this forum


and I get the benefit of a spell check ( I can spell but my fingers can't)

Yes, I had to resort to the suggestions mentioned; however, what frustrating is there seems to be a timer on how long one can type before it logs you out. And unless you know that, or how much time you have, you lose your msg before your ready to send.

If that is the case (a lack-of-activity timer) then that can be very maddening.

I mentioned IRv2 forum, where I nave been a member for years, it is also a RVLIFE forum and that doesn't happen with their messaging system.

It just happened to me again, I hit send (msg) and it said I wasn't logged in with a link to log in. But my screen shows I am still logged in. Then when I pressed the log in link it took me to login and when I, I got a blank white screen. I shut down my browser, brought it up again, clicked my forum Icon and re-logged in and my msg had been deleted.

Hello admin, can you fix that?

I've never had the issue of timing out during a post and getting logged out... and I've been logged in for months. My posts are often rather long...

OK... I let this just sit here for 30 minutes after typing the above... and it posted fine.

Same with me, but several years ago I went through a stretch where I kept getting signed out. After a while it just went away and I never knew why.

when I’m doing something like that I type it all out on a word doc or similar then when I’m done cut and paste it through the website

This problem has happened to me many times! So now when I am done typing I always press command copy on my Mac. if it says I am now logged out I just log in again and press command V. It is a nuisance but I have learned a lot on this site.
