Default Roadtrek Ranger RT MPG

I just completed a 6000 mile trip through 13 eastern states from Florida and back and got 18 mpg until i got to West Virginia, where it dropped to 17mpg.

I drove 60mph and have 60lps of air in front tires and 75lps in the rear. Cruse control was used almost all of the time.

The on board Onan 2.8 generator was used about 8hrs from the same gasoline.

This trip included both interstate, regular roads, and city driving.

I was happy to get more than 17mpg for combination highway and city mileage.

What year is your RV?

Which engine?

Do you have the 6-speed transmission?

The 6-sp is a great transmission. It gives very good mileage.

Near as I can tell, IIRC. Ranger w/ Onan genset was on G3500 chasis & fitted w/ 6.0Liter motor, 6spd. Ours is 2013 model. Also setup w/ receiver tow system & continental spare tire carrier. And we have propane on board for the suburban furnace & 2 burner stove top. ('Fridge is compressor & hot water is elect)
We typically get 16.5mpg at 65 - 70 mph. Sometimes a little better, but hardly ever worse. All of our travels are in western states with lots of hills.
We seldom use cruise cont. Unless on Interstate Hyws. And try to avoid them as best we can.
To bad RdTrek discontinued the Ranger R/T. It's a great setup at a reasonable price point. On the tried & proven Chev chassis with a modern V8 motor.
BTW they did offer the smaller LS motors on 2500 chassis without gennie, etc. Dunno what trans.
YMMV! Ric.
