When we first got our 2014 GWV Legend (Sprinter 3500 with 4-cylinder/7-speed drivetrain), we were seeing 19-20 MPG. As it settled in, the milage slowly crept up. After 15K miles, we now regularly see 21-22 MPG.

My average is 1 mpg less than my report from a few years back. The 17. something U.S. mpg is now 16. something. The van is approx 1,000 lbs heavier with all the mods and handles better (more mods) so speeds are in the 70 to 75 mph range.

We have experienced the same thing on our gasser. Our consistent trip mileage of about 16mpg has dropped to about 15.2mpg. We are similar weight, but with more solar on the roof. I think ours is almost totally speed related as our average speed is up about 10mph from before due to better handling.

Last trip from Michigan towards Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, NM and back, we probably averaged around 16 mpg based on Scangauge II readings. Our highs were 18 or better, and the lows were closer to 13. Oddly, the 350 V8 in our 2002 seemed to get slightly better numbers at or slightly over 65 mph, as opposed to the less stressful 100kph (62mph) which we usually cruise at.

Yes, like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining", I'm back.

Trip: Long drive there. Then relax for a few days and nights. Then long drive home. Gets harder as time goes by, but that's just the way it is, right?
Yeah, it was great, as usual. It never gets old (wish I could say the same for me).

On here, I see not much has changed. The Alvar thread has set new forum records for views, we're still talking about how to squeeze more blood (aH) out of a stone (assorted batteries and chargers), and the thrill of owning your first class B van has never been better, as described by all the new first time buyers I see who have settled in on the forum.
We've all come a long way along the road to the perfect class B van experience, or are just starting out and taking those first tentative steps towards the goal of the perfect touring and camping experience.
No matter who we are, where we came from, or where we aspire to go. It's all good.

Yup. This place still smells like home........

2015 Winnebago Travato 59G, 1st generation, 3.6L V-6 gas.

My trips usually last 2-3 weeks; one lasted a month. Driving out west in deserts and mountains. Some flats, some steep grades. 50-50 local and highway driving.

Recent trip averages:

15.16
15.60
15.77
14.44 Much driving on interstate highways at 70-75 MPH, some of it with strong headwinds.
13.75 Lots of steep mountain roads.

It would be interesting to know if the folks with the poorer mileage numbers also have the roof rack. It seems to me that this item creates a lot of wind resistance/turbulence that may negatively effect MPG. The ladder & bike rack on the rear may also have an aerodynamic effect (not really intuitive) as it also disrupts airflow over the rear - those items could actually prove a benefit.

We have a 2013 LTV Unity MB with over 30,000 miles on it. We have been fulltiming since April 2014 and are averaging 15 mpg with a roof full of solar panels and pulling a toad.

Over 37946 miles all over the country, (except the northeast), approx. 60/40 Interstate/2 lane, almost always driving 5 over the limit, figured with the Fuelio app, 17.77mpg. This is using whatever fuel comes out of the pump I'm at, Bio 0-20, you never know, (no issues).

I run an older 2000 Okanagan on Dodge B3500 360 inch engine, with the "bubble top" roof, so not as aero as the newer units Over 110K miles on her and I'm getting around 13.8-14 MPG (US gal basis) driving 63-68MPH range.

2015 Travato - 3.6 liter gas.

With Cruise @ 60mph - 18 to 20mpg.
With Cruise @ 75mph - 14 to 16mpg.

I'm in no hurry - 60mph is my magic number.

Does that number include the fuel used for the diesel Espar heating and hot water system that Advanced RV uses?

The first time I went to that link, I got one of those bogus "Windows has detected a virus" messages. You're supposed to call and give them your credit card number. How do I know it's totally bogus? I'm running a Mac.

The second time, after I closed the page and deleted cookies, it worked fine.

BE CAREFUL!

I got the same bogus message when I clicked on the new link.

For those who are wondering what we're talking about, use any search engine and look up "Consumer Reports Beware of Fake Computer-Virus Warnings Scammers are charging victims to remove viruses that don't exist" (without the quotes).

I deleted the links. That site checked out clean on a few site scanners though so I think it is something on our computers causing the fake notice and maybe it is somehow triggered by visiting that site.

I ran a couple of anti malware tools and they removed some IE & Chrome extensions and deleted some registry entries.

I'm running a 3rd program now (Malwarebytes anti-malware).

So far our 95 Chevy 5.7Liter Roadtrek 190V has averaged about 12.5 MPG. When comparing that to newer units that get 20MPG I was a little disappointed but after some quick math I found out my fuel costs for the next 10 years will be less than the cost of upgrading. When you pass the old van in the slow lane, wave at me.
