VOIP - Magic Jack (similar to Skype ?)

Sold my RV but came back to tell y'all about this Magic Jack thing. Wife bought it ($40 at WalMart - 1st year free, then $20/year thereafter).
A small USB device that she connects to her laptop - internet service required - a telephone or a computer headset to plug into the USB device.
We set it up before she left for London and she has called everyone she knows (showing it off). She was assigned a tele # with our area code so I can call her from home. All calls are "free". I'm guessing that the program can be un, then re-installed so as to get a local tele #, if one would choose to do so.
I've got a bunch of minutes left on a calling card but will get a Magic Jack for myself when I finish with those. Might even drop my home line.
