Default Satellite Antenna Location

I just bought a Sirius radio for my 1989 Chevy Fiesta and am trying to figure out the best way to install it. The antenna line is 252 inches (21 foot). The highest point on my 17 foot van is the air conditioner. Some online references discuss placing the antenna inside in the cab-over bed ceiling as the fiberglass doesn't interrupt the signal. I`m also thinking about the best way to use the radio off the auxiliary battery instead of the main engine batter while dry boon-docking. I`m looking at solar panels but I`ll post that elsewhere. Any suggestions?

If possible, you should place the antenna on the roof for a constant signal maybe using velcro. I use an XM boombox with rechargable batteries when I am boondocking. You will get a clear sound when plugged into the aux. of your stereo. I placed my XM antenna on my CB antenna base.
