I'm not sure. I don't trust any of them. Over my online history I have had two host website services pulled out and thus leaving me to not to bother with that avenue. I have had one photo hosting service pulled out under me as well.
I do have a longtime Flickr account.

yup= I had long suggested photobucket, but no longer.
no reason for my images to be there, so I deleted them last night.
the image replacement from photobucket are not such a great advertisement for them...maybe the various forums will come up with a crawler to remove them/ delete links
we'll figure out a work around- maybe even post a still to youtube?

Oh, totally.
There is no way I would trust the "truth" copies of my precious photos to ANY third party, especially a "cloud" service. They serve their purpose, but they are all ephemeral. Anybody remember "AOL Hometown"? 10 million personal websites disappeared with one week's notice.
And don't delude yourself into thinking that Facebook, YouTube, Google Drive, or any other trendy service will be "forever". They all will pass.
You should:
(a) upload any images you want to post to a forum to that forum's site. At least that way, the lifetime of the images will equal that of the site.
(b) Buy THREE multi-terabyte external disk drives. Put all of your images on one. Use the other two for backups. Store one at your friend's house.
(c) If you are an Apple user, set up Time Machine to make an additional automatic backup to another disk. I'm sure there are equivalents for Windows.

I don't see how their advertisements can support such a large database infrastructure.
I knew it was going to fail one day. That's why i do not have any photos up there.
Placing images directly on forums eliminates offsite links’ life frustrations. It is easy to do, and I wander why folks continue to use links, is it to maintain an ownership?
I have 1TB Google Drive service which is great in case when I forget to back up files or during travels. To post more than a few photos or to share I used Google Plus, hopefully it will last longer than the Google’s disastrous Picasa drive.
A few times a year I refresh my backup drive locked-up in the fire resistant safe. At some point, I want to get a wireless back-up drive to ease the at home back-ups. Redundancy of data storage is an absolute must for me.
Bulk of my photos are still in negatives and my plan is to transfer them to digital domain, slow process even with professional Epson scanner but it will happen. I even have some family photos from the late eighteen hundreds on the glass but never saw the actual photos destroyed one of the World Wars, it will be fun to see the past.
I put my photos I want to share on my blog or on Facebook. Haven't used my Flickr in a while - tired of the malfunctions and slow links. If you are on a pay service, you probably can have some expectations on performance, since you are paying. Free service you are at the mercy of the internet gods. I pay for iCloud storage too, which is a good as place to store pics as any. Don't think Apple is going anywhere soon.
Maybe not. But in 1987 Digital Equipment Corporation was making so much money they didn't know what to do with it. That year, they brought the Queen Elizabeth II to Boston harbor for a one-company trade show. I was there. A little over a decade later, they were out of business.
If you don't keep physical control of your pictures, you WILL lose them. Just a matter of when.
