I'm a new owner. The inverter toggle switch doesn't have on or off labeled. Is up position for 'on' and the down position 'off'? Should the switch light when it's in the on position (it doesn't)? Thanks for your input...it's a basic but important question

Welcome to the forum Graven45!

Reversed and unlighted switches are a big pet-peeve of mine.

My Airstream had several switches that worked "in reverse". Bugged the heck out of me so I have changed them by unscrewing the face plate, poping out the switch from behind, turning it 180 degrees, then re-labeling to "make it right".

I've also replaced several unlighted switches with lighted ones. The main one being the water pump.

To know for sure when the inverter is on or off, plug something into a receptacle that is powered through the inverter. Turn it on to see if there is power. Flip the inverter switch to see if that stops {or starts} power to that receptacle.

The outlet above the kitchen sink and ouitlets for the entertainment equipment are powered through the inverter.
