Default Roadtrek automatic step on side door

Hello good people!

Does anyone know how the sensor for the sliding side door step works? More specifically, how to adjust it? Mine will occasionally activate while driving. I can hear it go out and come back in and I figure the sensor needs adjusting.

Thank you for your help

We had an Agile that had a small piece of magnetic tape on a round sensor at the bottom front of the sliding door frame. When the tape was removed the step opened and closed with a mind of its own. Try a piece of magnetic tape on this sensor and let us know what happens.

wow...a piece of tape?

There has to ( or should) be an interlock

GM uses a 3 pole switch on the brake pedal ( 2 NC/1 NO) which is used for brake lights, cruise off and also to prevent the gear selector from moving out of park without foot on brake.

That "could" control an interlock to prevent step moving unless vehicle is in park

I don;t know if RT designed that way though

Story:
one of my Rockstar bosses got a new prevost- on one of the first trips he went for the light switches in teh front lounge and the designer had placed the awning switch on same panel w/ lights- no interlock...awning deployed and was torn off instantly

expensive lesson for the coach leasing company
