Default Renogy smart lithium battery issues

Since the installation of my renogy smart lithium batteries in my 2007 190p roadtrek I have had continuing issues with corrosion in the cat5 ports. I have had one battery replaced already by Renogy and we are communicating regarding the same issue with the second battery. At worst one of the wires in the port broke off, at best there was minor corrosion that I was able to remove and got battery working again. Batteries are located in compartments on outside of van. I am using De-Ox to protect the ports but still have having problems . Their does not seem to have any excess moisture in the battery housing, but this continues to be an issue.
Has anyone else had this problem. Renogy has not been a lot of help with ideas other than replacing the bad battery.

Thanks
Terryb

I have 4 Renogy smart lithium batteries (linked) and have not had any issues with the cat5 ports corroding. My batteries are 22 months old and have been in service for 16 months. All are located on the inside of the van and even though I am on the west coast the van is quite dry as we don’t have any propane that generates a lot of moisture. I’d probably put some dielectric grease on the cat5 plugs to keep moisture out of the ports. Kinda messy but should help.

yes dielectric grease - outside of the connections, not on the conductors

any signs of burning/arcing which could affect ?

for corrosion/oxidisation on conductors I use a "nic-sand" a fiberglass strand "pen" which is used in body paint touch ups and electronics to clean metal. follow with deoxit/cramolin

No signs of burning of arching as far as I can tell. What would cause that ?

I looked up nic-sand and could not find anything. Is that better than deox-it D? Then I use detox-it S.
