Default Quick question regarding replacing coach battery

Just an easy question for those of you that have replaced or upgraded your coach batteries. With all the electronics in the coach; Vegatouch, Xantrex I/C, Truma, I was wondering how many settings you lost while the coach battery was disconnected.

I was especially concerned about the Vegatouch. However, when I switch to "storage mode" on the battery selector this seems to be offline anyway, so perhaps my concern is unfounded.

Thanks again!

I would hope you'd lose none. My van, admittedly long in the tooth without fancy stuff being fed 12v, has the provision to completely shut down the 12v side. This seems like a necessary feature to prevent battery discharge during storage, and I expect such a feature is present on new Class Bs, as well.

With the system off, I can swap the coach battery with nothing in the 12v circuit being any the wiser.

If your RV has the ability to completely switch off the 12v side, then the items you're worried about should be able to tolerate being fed 0v without losing any settings.

^^^ Thanks for the reply! I have changed batteries in everything else we own, but this van has more electronics than the others. I think I got spooked a little when I saw that the Vegatouch system has a variety of "hidden" menus accessed by long presses on various buttons. Also, the Truma panel seems to draw power from the house battery full time, so just wondered what would happen when disconnected.

My guess is that I would be fine. [A second reason for posting is that I REALLY do not want to go back to my dealer for anything, if at all possible . . .]

The Truma will reset its clock back to 00:00. I've pulled power on mine many times with no issue.

If you are worried, take a 9V battery and a couple of alligator clips and use them to maintain power while the batteries are disconnected.
