Default Onan 2800i install

Got my 2800i in from Cummings,
Modifying the gen set box to accommodate the slightly taller new set. Just a little worried about my ability to wire it. Have got a new harness and start/stop switch coming. Can’t wait to hear it run real quiet when she idles down.

It appears the new 2800i has a side exit for the exhaust in addition to a different location for the AC and 12 volt wiring. The new exhaust location would mean a different 1/1/4” stainless exhaust system. We are interested in the exhaust complications.

Please post pictures and install of new unit. Where did you purchase it? I did not know they were available to retail public? If possible would you measure the noise output with a meter? Anxiously awaiting your posts! Thanks very much!

Just received an email from Onan. The new 2800i is $2915.00 Taxes, shipping installation are extra. FYI

Welcome to the forum Mitch!

Please take pics as you go. I'm a little surprised the new unit is taller since every underneath inch counts. But a side exhaust saves at least 2" from their old downward exhaust, so probably no net clearance loss.
