I have solar at home but in a vehicle I do not understand much Help? Does it DO anything? thanks

Most likely the solar panel is helping to charge the house battery, though, if it is a small panel, it won't be producing much power. The device could be the solar controller that controls the power to the battery. On my Roadtrek, I have a 100W solar panel mounted on the roof that helps to charge the house battery.
