Default lifepo4 and speaker magnet

Are there potential problems with installing a LiFePO4 battery near a speaker magnet? If so, how far away would be recommended or what kind of shielding might help?

magnetic induction/flux/field expressed as "gauss"

many speaker manufacturers will publish this spec

I think first question for battery manufacturer is how resistant is the battery to that flux

reading that fields are used to orient the battery crystals for charging/discharging

and while magnetic fields can;t be blocked, they may be "redirected"

my work in music/electronics often involves trying to shield electronics from radio/ electrical fields & interference

magnetics we sometimes try to redirect, as simply as turning a speaker cabinet

I was thinking that it is more likely that the magnet might interfere with the BMS than the battery itself, though I do not know. I have 1/4" of space between the magnet and the side of the battery. Is there something that I should put in that space to help prevent interference?

I was reading an article about battery systems which use internal magnetic fields to reorient the crystals for charge or discharge

this may be an important consideration if this is used in your battery

Well, I have not found much that suggests that anyone is concerned with this as a potential problem so perhaps it is not. I am planning on installing a lifepo4 battery under the passenger side lounge seat in the back of my Dodge RT but there is a speaker there. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

How close will they be?

Not far. Only about 1/4" to 1/2" between the speaker magnet and one end of the battery. I will put a wood partition in that space to hold the battery in place.

You might want to explore Faraday fabric

Yes, I was thinking of that. Or maybe just stainless steel mesh affixed to a piece of wood. You know the space I am talking about, the passenger's side storage compartment in the Roadtrek 170 under the back lounge seat? It is a good space for a lifepo4 battery except for the speaker.

...magnetic fields can't be blocked, they may be "redirected"

putting a ferrous material in a magnetic field may extend that magnetic field in the same manner as putting a magnet on the shaft of your screwdriver will help the tip attract a screw dropped into a crevice...it doesn't block it, it extends it.

Faraday cages work better for radio frequency or electric fields/induction

expect similar results with magnetic fields as with gravity

one of the first "magnet Faraday" google results ( for years) is: " a compass will work inside a Faraday cage"

at this point, I'd put your battery in there and if there are any issues with charging and discharging ( supply) move the speaker to another location
