House Battery 96 Coachmen Class B

Hello Folks,

I am in the process of upgrading the house battery in my 96 Coachmen Class B.

I am having difficulty finding a 12V deep cycle (or 2x 6v Golf cart) battery that will fit in the existing tray. The battery tray for the house battery is only 5" wide?

Can someone out there with a similar camper give me a recommendation on a good battery that would fit in this space?

I would just go to a battery specialist and give them the dimensions. Or you could just to go an auto parts store and get a deep cycle battery of the dimensions you require.

I have a 95 Coachman and it has a group 24 battery and I know that it is wider than 5 inches. If that s all you have I would seriously consider making a bigger battery box. as a general rule the smaller the battery the less power you have. In other words the smaller the battery the faster it will die. I am thinking to make mine bigger so it can fit 2 batteries it it
