Default Battery Cable Extension

Wanted to clean up my house battery box today and when i tried pulling the drawer out I found out that the battery cable that runs from the isolater is too short and prevented me from pulling the drawer out. I had to be a contortionist to get my hand up in there and get it disconnected. Good news was the drawer is completely solid - but the bad news is getting things back together.

So, need to know if there is any reason not to use a cable extension to correct this issue. I can't think of one but I am throwing it out there.
Figure if I tape it up good and put some heat shrink on it I should be good to go.
