Bathroom Light malfunction

Hi,

I have a 2019 Pleasure Way Lexor FL.
In the bathroom there are two oval shaped lights. They are activated by a single press. One of them does not fully turn on.

Can these be disassembled, or would I be better off just replacing the unit?

Any thoughts?

only comes on dim ? or only comes on once in a while ?


if dim, you may have a 2 stage light
I have deliberately made my bathroom light 2 stage with a dim setting on one side with a low lumen LED and a higher lumen LED on the other.
The dim acts as a nightlight


It you have intermittent operation the switch may be dirty/corroded or the lamp or led loose or in a corroded socket.
If most cases "exercising" a dirty switch will solve that, or unplugging and reinserting the lamp/led

Yeah only comes on dim, unlike the other one. Was fine before. I took it out, looks melted. Sealed unit. Probable best to just try for a replacement.

if it's melted I would assume an incandescent lamp?

switch to an LED, choose a color temperature near 3000K or lower ( a higher number indicates a harsher light)

an incandescent uses 10x the power for the same amount of light ( lumens )

and makes much more heat


all of my leds are made by phillips which makes a high quality no flicker led. about $10 each



I first tried something at walmart and it soon flickered, then failed

I ordered an OCL-2K-DP Thma Oval Courtesy Light White. Looks like a direct replacement. If I get another failure, I'll get more creative.

Switch to the LED; these are brighter and consume less energy. I bought some from Amazon, and they last for a long time.

Switch to the LED; these are brighter and consume less energy. I bought some from Amazon, and they last for a long time. Also, replace the whole unit; you will save time. So, I prefer to choose LED for my house and my car too. I recently replaced the halogen highlights with LED highlights because they consume less, and all my friends did these. I bought a pair from Amazon, and also these car lights are also LED https://www.amazon.com/car-lights-ca...dp/B09L86JRRM; these ones create a nice party atmosphere in the car. Most of the time, my kids enjoy them.
