Default aux generator

having just bought a 2003 170 popular with the generator having been worked
on/repaired, didn't get a work order or receipt with the books of what went on in the repair, it has only 47.6 hours on meter.
not knowing the type of oil or weight when it comes time for a oil change would
it be wise to go to a regular oil or a syn oil (southern state high summer temp)
30 weight or stay with a 20w-40 styl oil.
the previous owner didn't know much about RV had all work done in shops.
this is my 3rd RV.

Since it only takes a quart, I don't use it much, I use the best synthetic oil on the market.

the onan manual is easily available for download as a .pdf

get this for reference

in the motorcycle world ( where I hang) 98% is arguments about oil...

I use oil as spec'd in the manual for everything I own- if it says synthetic I use synthetic.

I agree, except, when we had an Onan, we used the Redline 15-40 motorcycle oil (crotch rocket oil) as no need for the diesel additives.
