Default 2011 Leisureway Free Spirit Batteries

new to this campervan usage, previously have owned Travel Trailers before and last one was BigFoot 17.5
Question I have with the Free Spirit, it has 3 batteries, one under the hood, one under the Driver seat and one at the back of the van. so can anyone tell me what each function of the batteries are for please?
Thanks
Anthony

Anthony, congrats on ownership of a Leisure Travel Van Free Spirit. I'm a Free Spirit owner, too, with the optional 2nd coach battery.
The Sprinter chassis/engine battery is under the driver floor. The 2 coach/camper batteries are in the engine compartment and in the rear driver side. It's confusing that the coach battery is in the engine compartment, rather than the chassis battery. Here's link to 2011 LTV Free Spirit Owners Manual. https://cdn.ltvdns.com/leisurevans.c...S%20MANUAL.pdf Note the coach battery locations are different than what the manual describes.
I hope you enjoy your Free Spirit as much as we have enjoyed ours. It's a great rig, with a workable floorplan, reliable components and good craftsmenship.

thanks for the link, we recently had to change the chasis battery with a new one
what about the coach ones, how often would i need to change them?
have you converted yours to solar?
would like to hear more about what you have done with your campervan.
we recently did some dry camping in a small town over the weekend, my wife loves it

Achan63/Anthony,
Yes, we really appreciate our Free Spirit and do mostly dispersed/dry/boondock camping in it. We bought our 2010 FS in 2016 and replaced both coach batteries in 2017.
If you're a Facebook user, there's a Facebook group for no longer in production aka vintage Leisure Travel Vans. It's another good source for LTV specific advice and sharing good info. You request to join, response/approval in about a day. https://www.facebook.com/groups/170485833687287/

We put 2 AGM batteries in for our coach.
