Default 2001 xplorer 230xlw Over voltage on Shore Power w/Gen

Before I start taking things apart, does anyone have an idea why my house voltage is 16v-17.5v when plugged into shore power or with the gen running? I have a 2001 xplorer 230xlw.

Voltage seems normal when running on house batteries (12.5) or with solar (14.7v).

That year van probably has converter/charger for charging when on shore or generator power. It sounds like it is failing if the output voltage is that high. If the batteries are seeing 16V-17.5V then you should stop using it.

I am hot positive on this, but depending on how the charger senses voltage, a high resistance ground connection to the chassis might cause the charger to run high.
