Default 15 Chevy 3500 backup camera replacement advice

I am going to replace the backup camera on my 2015 Chevy Express 3500. Anyone do that and learn things I should know before attacking this job?

Thanks!
Steve

Default Backup cameras

Are you just changing the camera or the entire system? After market systems and separate cameras abound on Amazon at decent prices. I put this system on a Roadtrek. 7-Inch Touch Screen Backup Camera Mirror Dash Cam 1080P Front and Rear Dual Lens with Waterproof Rearview Reversing Camera(Free 16GB SD Card) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H77GYR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_jh4wL6WVMNvmj

I am very happy with this product but the first one I tried was lousy.

Individual cameras can be 4 or 5 conductor connections. If camera is mounted on the back door then you need to consider the ability,of,the door to open. I mounted my camera inside the RV, so it is fixed in position and looks out the back window.

I installed a digital wireless camera system with a battery-operated camera.
This is very simple no fuss or wiring required.
I wanted this system because we can turn on the camera any time to check what's behind
rather than only when we put the RoadTrek in reverse.

The model referenced above is wired and that was a challenge. The screen is multi-mode, shoots forward and aft and records on a continuous loop. A few taps and it toggles between showing forward or aft, picture in picture or side by side.

I was looking at aftermarket stuff. If I am going to do that, I want it recording full time to a card. I haven't seen that. I would have another seven inch screen to deal with. I just need to fix a dark camera. The one I have now would be fine if the camera was working.

The RT 210 Popular has this type! It takes up only half of the rear view mirror. We really LOVE it. I had put in a wireless one in our other RV and didn’t like as there was so much interference from other sources transmitting on the same frequency.
