Tannehill State Park

DW & I are planning a trip to Panama City, FL area and planned to spend a couple of nights at Tannehill SP on Oct 4 & 5. But from what I hear on other forums is that could be a problem in getting a site due to early arrivals for Halloween. Any one have any experience with this? Would this be an issue? Should we make alternative plans? Thanks for any & all help.

Why not make reservations since you know your dates? In doing so, if you get them, you're in. If not, well then you have your answer.

We toured Florida a few years ago in October. Early October we had no problem with getting campsites in the state parks including the Keys. By late October it was different especially on the weekends. They were all booked and we only got in showing up and grabbing a cancellation. We were not always successful.

Tannehill does not accept reservations. Walk in only, first come first serve. That's part of the problem.
