Default smoked out...

We set off on a trip from Western Oregon with the hope of ending up in Glacier National Park. We planned our stops along the way and our route back to Oregon, with the hope we would only have the heat to contend with. The cookie did not crumble the way we wanted...the highway we planned to take ,12,over to I-90,then up to Missoula and then to Glacier, # 12, was closed due to the Lolo fire. A few days before that the road was open. We then headed south on 12 down to McCall. Stayed there a night then headed south some more. Pretty much everywhere there was smoke, some places worse than others. Phillips Reservoir was not a bad campground stay, and the smoke was much less than what we had come through.
Making it back to Eugene, we were greeted by some of the thickest smoke (less than 1/4 mile visibility, and a new heat wave..high 90s..

Taking a break, maybe by the end of Sept. we can set off again...to someplace...

We are in Bozeman, MT now and heading through wildfire country over to Vancouver. We will just have to pick our way through. We have scratched Glacier NP.

We know what smoke is all about, just clearing up the ash from the La Tuna canyon fire here in Los Angeles. Also a week of 106-110 degree heat.
Hope your trip improves from now on in.

Still in EU watching intensely Oregon fires, Columbia Gorge fire just makes us cry, so close to our camping life, sad.
