Default Places Near Phoenix?

Looks like we will be picking up our Crossfit on Thursday in Scottsdale. Thought we should spend the night nearby so if we had questions, we could go back to the dealership the next day.

Does anyone have a recommended site, either for RV parking or to visit for touristas?

Thanks!

There are nearby campgrounds in the mountains around Phoenix greater area that are quite nice. Lake Pleasant Regional Park north of Phoenix, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park west of Phoenix are the ones I am familiar with. White Tank has overflow camping so you can get in. Cave Creek north of Scottsdale was one I have liked to get in but was full.

this is monsoon season- sudden very violent storms and low areas/washes may flood ( see the news- 9 dead the other day).
so I'd stay in town rather than a camping area.

many campgrounds in the low areas (hot) are closed for season, they cater to snowbirds.
you could head towards payson or sedona (elevation- cooler)- but again...floods
flagstaff even cooler

or could be a good time to check out the wonders of a walmart parking lot

I am on the road or I'd offer my driveway
