Default Mid-Florida to St Louis

Need some planning/trip advice. Driving our new Sportsmobile and living mostly outside, we don't need a bunch of room or road clearance, as a 5'er or a large A might, just electric and a table and we're good to go. Our preference is Corp & State Parks. And being from the midwest, some privacy in a camp site is also preferred, but not necessary. Leaving from St. Louis and heading to Savannah area, working our way down the coast to Daytona Beach taking a couple plus days, with several one or two day stops along the way. Heading across to Crystal River/Manatee Springs State Park area after seeing St Augustine (a must) before heading home. Just retired so time is irrelevant for the most part. Here's where I need some help: Would like to return via the gulf coast to Mobile, maybe Biloxi or even New Orleans and then head north and home. It's the from Florida state line on that I really need help with. Mississippi has a couple of Corp Parks that look interesting along Hwy 55. Just need some sights to see along the way. Rather not drive more the 4-5 hours a day and not every day, and want to see sites. Love the ocean (gulf), history, good food and general points of interest. Not big on cities, as we live near one. Also need to know what we're up against in the way of finding camp sites, as we plan to get on the road the later part of March. Don't know if snow birds and/or spring breakers have all the sites taken. And reservations are pretty much out of the question, as we just retired and REALLY need to play this by ear, er… or as the wind blows.
Any and all help is appreciated

I'd like to travel that route also.

If you don't get much response and you have a GPS then maybe visit POI Factory. There are downloadable POI's for those States covering Tourist Attractions, Offbeat Tourist Attractions, Lighthouses etc.

I'll try to plug that route along the coast into my GPS. I loaded 99,000 POI's the other day covering those areas so that if we get there and are looking for something to do or see we can press the icon and see what is nearby.

My wife and i are headed down that way at the end of March, likely leaving the Toronto Area around Good Friday. We are looking to travel down the 75. We want to stay a few days at Mantee Springs and then going on to a state park on the gulf coast. We think we might head north via the east coast though, through Myrtle beach. Any information on the Gulf coast of Florida is helpful. We perfer state parks as well. Never stayed at a Corp park, don't know what they would be.

Rick, Corp parks are the best in our opinion. The most consistent that we've found. We really enjoy them, but they're mostly found around large lakes/rivers. But that's just our opinion. Good travel to you.
