Default Island View Beach Tent and RV Campground

We went to Island View Beach Tent and RV Campground in Saanichton, BC
this past weekend.

It was a little tight but surprisingly quiet.

Our site was water hookup only.

The grass boulevard was nice.

Great views!

We saw this van being loaded onto a boat:

Met some nice folks. We'll visit again for sure.

Very nice pictures Mr. Polo
Aren't digital cameras great. So easy to share what you see.
Where was the van going? Is loading like that common, it looks kind of primitive.
What is the temp there through the summer, it looks like a nice day.
We are always looking for places to go where it doesn't get too warm, usually end up at Northern California coast. You know these small RV's heat up pretty quickly and we travel with a cat and dog.
And with all the RV's I see where are all the people?

I agree, they're great. I probably bought my digital camera 6 or 7 years ago. It was kind of expensive back then but it has been on quite a few trips now!

The van must have been going to one of the islands not served by the ferry system. I don't know how common it is. They looked very experienced to me.

Southern Vancouver Island temps will be somewhat like the Northern California coast perhaps a little cooler. We can get a few hot spells but it is usually moderate. Winters tend to be grey skies and rainy.

Quite a few RV's were parked there for the duration of the summer. Occupiers may have been away for the day. I did get quite cool late that afternoon.

Marko, are they charging a premium, for water front sites out west.

They started that the last few years, back here. Long Beach on Lake Erie charges $4 more per night for a lake front site. They charge $150/250 extra for the summer for seasonals, depending 15 or 30 amp for these sites. Next year they'll be charging extra at our park for river side sites.

Love to see the ocean though, that would be worth a little extra.

Island View RV was $30 per night on the water side. Only had water hookup though, no power or sewer.

Weir's Beach RV was $50 full hookup, beach in front, lagoon behind us.

Mark

It looks nice but that $50 ( CND or USD) sounds expensive to us, especially if it doesn't come with a "Continental Breakfast".
It must be the 'B' in us. My wife says it is the 'CHEAP' in me.

I agree. $50 is expensive.

That one works out ok for us though because it's so close. $20 in fuel roundtrip

We went back to Island View this past weekend.

Feels like I was away for a week!
