Default Hocking Hills State Park (Logan, OH)

We camped twice this year in the Hocking Hills State Park area about 50-60 miles south of Columbus, OH. This is an interesting area for visiting or stopping while traveling. It was just right for us coming back from Washington DC on our way home (Minnesota).

In May we camped at the Hocking Hills State Park Old Man's Cave campground. Most sites were level and had electric hookups.

The second time this month we camped at a private campground about 3-1/2 miles north of Old Man's Cave. Since it is the proposed site for the 5th B Van rally being organized on RV.net B Campervan forum, I took extensive pictures of the campground and posted them in my .mac web gallery here.

Nice pictures, what a great idea to tke shots of the sites, then you know what site you prefer before you get there.

Which park did you prefer, the state park or the private park?

We stayed at Scenic View because that was where the RV.net B5 rally was held. Here are the photos with Scenic View filled with B vans.

What a site to see so many Bs in one place. But then we repeated again two weeks later at Niobrara State Park in Nebraska for a BEE Social.

As for the campgrounds at Hocking Hills, both Scenic View and the state park ground at Old Man's Cave are nice. There are more amenities including WiFi at Scenic View. The state park campground is right at Old Man's Cave so you can hike to it. Scenic View is 3-1/2 miles away so you would have to drive to it. The state park is a little less expensive.
