Default California drought and camping

Does anyone know if there is still camping in California parks ? Two friends have told me that camping and fishing are now banned because of the drought. I couldn't find any info like that online. I did notice that Samuel Taylor Park near San Francisco was only open to campers who had their own water. We only stay in private campgrounds when we have no alternatives but they must be also having water problems. I guess we haven't chosen the best time to visit.

I haven't heard anything about a camping ban at state parks. If so, it must be only some state parks or very new since I had no problem at Big Sur a week ago.

Camping in California has not been stopped. The state and National parks are booked for the summer.

There are many lakes too low for some recreating but all the hotspots will be fine.

I expect to see campfire restrictions later in the season at some locations.
