Default 2011 - Where to go and what to do this year?

Will you be doing a group meet up? I believe there's something coming up in Albuquerque New Mexico in April 17-20 - The Rally B meet. Have you ever been to one of these before? What are they like? Fun or chaos?

My "nice to sees" would be , Dunedin FLA for MLB spring training, then maybe west along the I-10 to California with stops along the way, possibly the Grand Canyon (we've been told it wasn't as crowded then) Bryce or Zion too, New River Gorge in WV for a bit, preferably in the fall around "Bridge Day", if we have time, we'd like to do western Canada for a bit too. We may do the western Canada thing combined with a trip up the coast to Alaska.
Not too aggressive in our plans are we???

Mike.
Well that was then, and this is now.....
Not much has changed for us, and while there's just as much uncertainty in many aspects of the economy,
oil/gas prices for one, the reasons seem to be different this time around. We will continue to travel, for the
same reasons as when I wrote my previous thread.
We did much of what we had planned to do with the exception of western Canada, which may happen later this
year, and of course Alaska. It's a looooong way to there from here, and we figure it'd take us close to 1 week
just to get there, so it's going to take some more serious planning.
There's another Bee Social in Tombstone, AZ April 28, 2011 which might be a possibility. See more in the "RV Rallies,
Get togethers, and RV Shows" category on this forum.
Beyond that, we've been meaning to hit south Texas, and may be just about to head south to that end.

So, what's in your class B future???

We will head out at the end of this month for Arizona to visit friends, tour Arizona and wind up at the BEE Social near Tombstone, AZ at the end of the April. Then we will return home, regroup and head out again, first to Springfield, IL for the RV.net B8 Rally and then to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 race and my annual Speedway High School Reunion Memorial Day weekend. Because we all grew up in the shadows of the race track many of us from all over the country as far away as CA and FL come back every year for the race. So a reunion get together is a natural. After that we will probably go to Washington DC sometime in the summer to visit our daughter and family. With the B we just park right out in front of the house. To get there and back we will meander all over and vary our route - nothing direct. We will do several short trips in northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan's UP mostly camping in state parks, national and state forests. We make almost monthly trips to La Crosse, WI where our son and his family live. Haven't given much thought after that. We still keep saying we'll go to Banff.

One trip is finished. We drove approximately 6,350 miles over 39 days to the Southwest and back almost all on the blue highways. Only 420 miles on the Interstate highways. Biggest problem was dodging and passing farmer's combines on the Nebraska roads.

Next up, as previously mentioned, is the RV.net B8 Rally in Springfield, IL May 20th and then on to the Indianapolis 500 mile Race the following weekend. We will return home in circular fashion via Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
