Default 1989 Xplorer Xtra Van Value

Hello folks I just acquired a 1989 Dodge Xplorer Xtra Van. Here's what I know about it. It has 4 captians seats, 2 burner stove, fridge, Microwave, small toliet, hot water heater and roof top ac with a fantastic fan or something like it. 139,000 miles and in good shape and it runs and drives just fine. A/C is ice cold and heat is good and hot. It just needs a solid cleaning. I had a neighbor make me a offer on it and I think hes pretty low. What is the going price on these Xplorers?

Hard to say what your '89 is worth without pictures and maintenance records. I got my clean '87 that has been garage kept and has only 67k miles with good documentation and relatively new tires, for just over 4 grand. Spent 800 to have mechanic change all belts and hoses, recharge AC, fix cruise control, and change all fluids. Mine is a carbonated 318 engine with 4 captains chairs. All systems work.

.

Fair value is what a buyer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to sell.

There was an Xplorer hype came out of nowhere a few years ago. I have seen 25 yrs old units going for $30k.

YMMV

Do some online searching and you will quickly fall off your chair.
Outrageous prices for a well kept no rust all systems working.
Even a xplorer with rust and high milage will fetch 3 to 4 thousand.
good luck finding one. I book marked a 1989 few months ago that sold in like 2 weeks for 12 thousand it was nice but had 100.000 + miles on it.
5 to 7 thousand seems what average ones go for. But like it's been said it's what ever someone is willing to pay and how bad they want it.

I was going to put mine on the market for 5.000 but after seeing the junk out there I've decided to keep it.
Mine now has rust holes coming through. so not worth that much any more.
Good luck to you and Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the new camper van.
