Tire help

I have just spent most of 2 days trying to find 215/70/R 15, 8 ply with a 109 load rating . . . tried the internet (and I hate shopping the internet), 6 dealers in three cities and have found 1 provider, "Thunderer" from Thailand (I think) and their reputation is unproven, and may have a 3 month wait . . .
Someone on the forum suggested that 225/70/R 15 work. Before I spend another two brutal days, has someone RECENTLY purchased them, and what brand. And will a 75 work??
We enjoy our Rialta, but for the first time since we purchased this 2001 I am having serious thoughts about finding something else.
Help, I don't really want to trade.

I am not a Rialta owner, or expert, but didn't they use 16" wheels on the later years of them? Maybe the 16" is more readily available. It would probably be a similar width at 215, but probably a 65 aspect ratio to maintain the diameter.

I just ordered a set of Nokian WR C3 tires for my Rialta. Mine are 16". 195/65/16 front and 205/65/16 rear. I might get them by the weekend. I'll ask if they are available in 15" 70 series when I'm there.

The difference between 215/70/R 15 and 225/70/R 15 is 10 millimeters, which is 1 centimeter. This is equal to 0.393 inches in tread width.

70 vs 75 is the aspect ratio. On a 215/70 the sidewall is 70% the height of the width. This would be 150.5mm. A 215/75 would be 161.25. If you move up in aspect ratio you move down in width to approximate the same tire height.

However, in 15 inch tires there are a lot of sizes that are no longer made. You might want to look at 225/60 or 225/65 15's. A 225/65 would be 146.25mm which would be closer in size than the 215/75.

they have the 215/70/15 with a 2270lb/tire load rating
it's an 'all weather tire' not just an 'all season tire'
