The shop I tried was unwilling to put my 2013 Chevrolet Roadtrek on a lift for fear of damaging the ground effects and the tanks. That was ok with me because I thought he could just use roller jacks like they do at Discount Tire. But he said no, that would not work.

Anyone know of a good mechanic in Tucson who can work on it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I am not certain that they did, but my rig has been on a lift on multiple occasions, both at independents and at my other go Chevrolet dealership on the East Coast. They should be reminded of the hazards and you should be careful to make sure whatever dealer you use has a lift of sufficient capacity. I had that come up when I had my Bilstens put on in Tucson. I purchased them from a local 4WD specialty shop who assured me that they could lift the rig, As it turned out I was too tall for their lift and would have hit the overhead. They made arrangements with a shop who had the capability. The point that I am making is that there is no real problem lifting these rigs if precautions are observed. The lift must have sufficient load capacity and vertical clearance and be of proper design. The safest type is the type where you drive on and the vehicle is lifted by the tires.

Thanks for the information. I was able to find a shop where the mechanic was familiar with Roadtreks and said it has to go on a drive on lift because the tanks are in the way of the jack points. Hopefully it will work out.

Thanks again for responding.

That's great- it this still the same abs/stabiltrak problem the smog testers created ?

Yes Mike, I'm taking it in next week for the smog dash light issue and an inspection, service etc.

I'm currently using Sandy's West RV on Prince and the I-10. Have to make an appt. but they only service Class B, lot's of older models use these guys.

Yes, I have heard good things about Sandy's, I have used Carl's which is also good. This time I need engine work but I will keep Sandy's in mind for the future.

Thanks for the response.
