We have a 2018 Lexor on the 2017 Promaster 3500. My wife has asked me what is under the floor panel between the Driver and Passenger seats. She is concerned that it is soft and we could be damaging something when we step on the panel. I have done some searching but haven't found anything yet. I know it is not the battery compartment. Next step would be to ask the mechanic in a couple of weeks. Thanks

Does your model have any of the under-floor storage doors or drawers you can remove to peek underneath?

There's nothing but factory floor in the Travato. The rubber mat Ram uses is very squishy. Remove the portion covering the battery and you'll see, at least on mine, that mat is about an inch thick and very soft.

2017 Trend and ProMaster drivetrain. The soft cover is over the gas tank and if removed you will see the out lines for the fuel to the engine and also one for a generator. On home built units there is an extra line for connection for a generator fuel line, and this line is only 3/4 down into the tank to keep generator from emptying gas tank and leaving you stranded.

Yes.

We tapped into that port for the Webasto gas heater. Very convenient.

Don’t worry about the squish. You won’t hurt anything. I suggest this floor mat which will give you a nice uniform surface. After nearly seven years, mine looks as good as the day it was laid. It always lies completely flat—corners never curl.

Light grey is a good color. In real life, it is almost the color of the floor.

I'm not sure if it helps, but I have a 09 PW Chevy Lexor TS and when I had the flooring replaced there were wires in that section. I know they had some issues working around it, so I guess paying a professional, not something I usually do, in this case it paid off.
