2005 HD..tail lights in auto mode

I have a 2005 HD that turns the headlights on during the daytime in auto mode...but when it becomes dark outside I have to switch to the on position for the tail and running lights to turn on. Is there a photoeye sensor for nighttime, or do the taillights have to be turned on manually?....Thanks

I own an 04' HD and it came with daytime driving lights. You have to turn on the headlights manually for the running tail lights to work. This is a safety feature that is required in Canada of all vechiles but not in the USA.

originally my 94 eurovan westfalia had both front ad back lights on when daylight ....


But I still had to put the switch "on" to operate the lo/high beams .....



I guess that when winnebago built the Rialta coach ,,,they cancelled the back lights .....
