Hello Booster, I have a 06 190 popular 4x4 and have an overheating problem. Ive' owned this rig for 8 years now and it has always started to heat up when climbing mountain passes. Lately it will heat up on lesser climbs or if it is just very hot out. I do tow a small utility trailer with rafting gear sometimes and that certainly affects it, but it will heat up without it as well. I have read all your posts about larger radiator, bigger trans cooler, fans etc. and it seems the only thing that has helped is when you changed the converter lock up points in the transmission. I admit much of this is greek to me so I discussed this with my mechanic and it was his opinion that was a bad idea as it could severely affect gas milage and might affect passing a smog check. (I'm in Calif.) since I am ignorant in this subject I would appreciate any help you can give in better explaining this to my mechanic.
