Thor Expands Airstream Production Facilities
Thor Industries has expanded Airstream trailer production facilities into a new 725,000 sq ft corporate campus in Jackson Center, Ohio that will include an Airstream Heritage museum, training facilities, and corporate offices.
Although Class B vans will not be produced at the new facility there is a side benefit. Airstream vans will inherit the 255,000 sq ft building previously used for trailers, a big step up from the group of smaller warehouse and Quonset hut buildings that totaled about 60,000 sqft and dated back to 1952 previously allotted to Class B production.
Airstream Class B production has been struggling recently under Mercedes Sprinter supply constraints. At least now if Mercedes can deliver the vans they'll have plenty of space to upfit them.
