Pleasure-Way to debut camper van at Hershey
SASKATOON, Sask. -- Pleasure-Way Industries will debut a new entry level camper van, the Basis, at the 43rd Annual Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show in Hershey, Sept. 14 to 18.
“The Basis is engineered on the Chevrolet 3500 chassis and built with the same exceptional quality and craftsmanship you expect from Pleasure-Way, said Dean Rumpel, Pleasure-Way CEO. "The new Basis has a straightforward interior at a significantly lower price. Our goal is to offer consumers an affordable alternative camper van as compared to upscale luxury models.”
The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the new 2012 Pleasure-Way Basis is $69,940, which includes standard features such as roof air conditioning and awning.
With a network of more than 60 dealers in North America, Pleasure-Way Industries Ltd. is located in Saskatoon, Sask. This family-owned and operated company began manufacturing Class B van motorhomes 25 years ago and has grown to be the second largest Class B motorhome manufacturer in North America.

Well, the price sure sounds attractive. Pleasure-Way was started by the Haanemayer family, I think. A good, Dutch name.

Hanemaayer's are Home & Park and Roadtrek. In 1974 Jac Hanemaayer designed a campervan for himself and had it built by Home & Park Vehicles. When it was finished, he liked it so much, he bought the company. http://www.roadtrek.com/history.aspx

2012 Pleasure-Way Basis
Pleasure-Way industries just released this new entry level model. With a few less bells and whistles, this is model is very competitively priced. It is priced similarly to the 2012 Traverse, however this one is a full Class B complete with a kitchen, bathroom, and queen bed in the back (the Traverse has a half kitchen and Porta Potti). If you are interested, please give us a call, we have FREE DELIVERY anywhere in the country on all Class B RVs, this one included!

Re: Pleasure-Way to debut "Basis" camper van at Hershey
The price for brand new is not that bad, is it? It has a similar layout to our 2002 RT, and I'd probably consider
it if I were going to replace the Roadtrek. On price alone.
"The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the new 2012 Pleasure-Way Basis is $69,940, which includes standard features such as roof air conditioning and awning."
Wonder if that's C$?
Are we seeing a trend away from the more expensive Sprinter based conversions, based on the economy?
I like the Chev based conversions.
No matter what the Sprinter owner's say about handling and on road stability, I still think they must have had issues/complaints, otherwise they wouldn't have felt a need to add the dually rear wheels configuration to improve it.

I was thinking about the trend too. Roadtrek Simplicity and Pleasure-Way Basis are headed in the right direction price wise.
