Default Roof needs fixing around seam

I have a 2001 Pleasure Way Excel RD. The roof where it attaches to the body has what looks like tape peeled off and I would like it to look it did from the factory. Any suggestions??

First, have a pic on your computer or tablet. I've never done it on a phone.
Next, hit "reply" like you always done to reply to a message
Then, when the reply window opens, scroll down and under "Additional Options" you will find a category "Attach Files" and under that a button called "Manage Attachments." Click on that and it brings up a small window. Click on "browse" and it should bring up another window where you find the pic file on your computer. Finally click the "upload" button.

Now when you go back to the reply window that you normally use and click on the paperclip icon to attach a file, you should find the file you uploaded to select. It then gets inserted into your reply.

Sounds more complicated than it actually is. Try one.

Got it. Your 2001 must have a different top mounting than my 1997 PW. Mine still has the gutter between the original van body and the clamshell top. So I'm afraid that I can't help you with that one.

Also, regarding your other post about the bed: My PW doesn't have the rear sofa bed, rather 2 side beds that can be converted to a full size bed by putting the back cushions on supports between the 2 beds. That way the beds serve as seating for the dinette table during the day, and the bed at night. I made slightly wider platforms for the side beds and had custom mattresses made for them. We sleep in separate beds and don't bother setting up a large bed. Easier to get out at night for........the visits to the bathroom.

I wish mine had the two beds. Thanks!

My 2001 Leisure Travel still has gutter lines and all roof to body seams are filled with sealant, as are most Class B's. Yours looks like it may have had the tape added later.

Hi! I spoke to the factory and they said they just use sika flex. The roof is attached with screws then filled with the sika flex. At least now I know that it just has to be scraped out and resealed. Thanks!

Yes- it is a lot of work to scrape, dig and clean out old sealant, but that's what you have to do to make sure old sealant is out. Good luck.
