Removing adhesive from fiberglass?
Before I purchased the Born Free, the soap/shampoo/whatever dispenser had been removed. Leaving me with a black tar like adhesive on the white fiberglass. I carefully used a razor knife blade to remove as much of the black as I could without damaging the fiberglass. Now I'm left with black streaks. Anyone have experiences on removing this black "tar" without damaging the fiberglass top coat?

You can also use rubbing alcohol to remove black stains with out damaging fiberglass. Try a small area just to be sure it does not damage the finish. Follow up with a good waxing in the area.

Lighter fluid like for a zippo
you can use a paper towel, but a piece of terry cloth is better, I cut scraps off old towels
I use this to remove adhesive residue at work, pine sap from the car and etc

Lighter fluid also removes price tags from books without messing up the paper! It would be my first choice to remove stickiness.
If its tar/oil like.... have you tried Dawn dish soap?

Lighter fluid
Lighter fluid is actually NAPTHA, a form of paint thinner used for spraying alkyd enamel paint, like Rustoleum.

Kerosene works well to remove adhesive, and i found it actually nourishes the paint. I used duct tape to hold down a wide load sign (long story) on the hood of my van, and was left with gooey adhesive after it was removed. But try it on your fiberglass somewhere that's less visible first. Fiberglass Gel coat and whatever paint was used back in 1987 are two different things!

This 3M stuff is great, I've used it a lot, and have never had it damage the surface. No more goo-gone here.

‘Goo Gone’ should also work well. I’ve used it for many gooey/sticky situations and it is amazing stuff. Some patience and elbow grease will also be required but I’m confident it will work.

D Limoline for the win
http://https://www.amazon.com/D-Limo...832681&sr=8-14
I have used most of the items mentioned by others, but simple D-Limoline works the best in my opinion. It is made from orange peel and smells great, but don't let that fool you, it dissolves fats and adhesive faster and better than petroleum products.
The link is to a small size from a brand I have never used. I have used a few brands, including the Blubonics brand, and they all seem about the same.

Update. Today was the day I couldn't stand the black tar/glue residue any longer.
Paper towels, WS-40 and elbow grease. Got three of the spots removed before I thought about taking pictures.
