Do the bulbs and projectors duplicate your originals or do they differ?

That is a good question, and can be an issue based on the now moved Yahoo Roadtrek forum where there have a decent number of replacements done.

Fit varied a bit with them, with some nearly as good a factory and others usable but not as good.

There were some complaints of poor light coverage patterns, which is what I think you are referring too. It is also possible others didn't notice because any clear one is probably going to look a lot better than a clouded over one.

I did well with my amazon purchase for my chev- $100 both sides

optically very good and surprising the aiming was 90% out of the box.

I had marked the aim on garage door before removing the old ones and the news ones were very close a couple of twists

I use premium philips bulbs and reused those - saving the "gimmee" bulbs for spare

although purchased as 'Brock" these were made by "Eagle Eye"

bought in May 20 and happy with them.

a few years ago on my GMC pick up the Eagle Eyes were really spotty for quality.

I had to keep buying and returning ( 5 times!) until I had 2 good headlights...oddly one side they use torx for aiming, the other phillips- it's like they are made in different factories.

the issues I had were deflective optics, broken adjusters/mounting lugs etc

Default headlight assembly

Here is the installation.

After the installation i drove down to a friends shop who has a ISOColor headlight Alignment machine and he checked them out, they needed one turn on each assembly to bring them into proper alignment.

What then do you attribute the increased performance by the replacements? As Booster inquires, could the originals show clouding of the polycarbonate outer covers that adversely affects both lumens and diffusion?

The original lenses were clouded over again and had been buffed out 3 times over the past 2 years. They were beyond buffing anymore.
Being 14 years old and the sun's UV rays degrading the lens it was time.

Whoever it was in the DOT that permitted polycarbonate covers in lieu of glass should be tarred and feathered. This debacle is exacerbated by the OEM design that requires replacing thr entire assembly rather than just replacing the degraded polycarbonate cover.
