I did a quick search on the forum and didn't see any mention of "Thermal Cooking" or cookers... sooooo.... I wanted to share the "Saratoga Jacks" Thermal Cooker.

We have the 7 liter kit with all the timings and extras. We use it on every trip and about once a week at home to make soup.

Basically the idea is you bring your crock-pot-recipe up to a boil for a few minutes then place in the thermal outer pot and close the lid. Typically anytime from ~3 to 5 hours later and your meal is ready to go. While we are camping we will place a crock-pot style meal in the pot before we head down to the river mid-morning. And when we arrive back at camp in the afternoon our main meal is ready to eat.

So the thermal cooker is insulated enough to keep the food hot? It doesn't fall below the safe cooking level?

.

I have one. It works great.

It saves energy. Keeps the room cool. It also saves time preparing the meal.

You can be creative and make all kinds of dishes.

I am no gourmet, anything is better than the army food I had during my younger years.
