Need Answer ASAP about my 1991 Roadtrek

Postby PJRACER » Fri Jul 30, 2010 9:26 pm

We are planning a lengthy trip with a long period of time being spent in one location and would like to hook a tow dolly to our 1991 Roadtrek w/318, and put our 2200 lb. Scion XB on it so we can use it while at our destinations. Any problem with such an idea? Need answer ASAP or at least your input.

Here are the specifications for your model from the Roadtrek brochure:

GCWR: 10,500 lbs.
Tow weight (estimated): 5,000 lbs.
Tongue weight: 800 lbs.

Looks like you're well within the specs. Brakes on the dolly are probably necessary.

Hopefully, someone with more knowledge of towing will post their opinion/advice.

PJRACER: How nice is that, living in the Spring Training home of the Toronto Blue Jays?
I'd like to find an inexpensive RV park in or near Dunedin, but we haven't had much luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We don't need hookups/pools/tennis courts,
just showers.

Thanks,
Mike.
It's not a sprint, it's a marathon (on most days).
