Default A few quick photos of my 95% finished van...

I took these two photos real quick before I hit the road early this afternoon. I think my van has turned out really beautiful. This time around, I used a mixture of new and old instead of all reclaimed wood… And I have so much storage it’s ridiculous. Storage I’ll never use, LOL. I haven’t put the curtain up under the bed yet, so you can see how much storage I have under there. What you can’t see, are the 7, 122aH batteries and 3000/6000W inverter. The rooftop air-conditioner gets installed in two weeks as does the vent fan.
I will try to remember to take a picture of the van from outside the sliding door so you can get an idea of where the refrigerator is in that small kitchen, and get a good look at the full-size shower, and floor to ceiling storage unit of drawers alongside the bed. I am super proud of this build. I couldn’t be happier .

Rich from TurfVans. He used to do general construction, but now only does van builds. He is a little social media challenged, LOL, but if you know somebody who’s looking for an amazing van-builder, let me know and I will put you in touch.

Oakland California. Right now Rich is in New Jersey building out a customers van. The owners thought it would be much easier to fly him out to New Jersey, LOL. That’s pretty cool.

Wow.. He must be good for someone to fly him out to do the conversion. Like to see it when it’s finished.

Well, he’s all mine once he gets back! He’s installing the rooftop air conditioner and a MaxxFan. I purposely asked him not to polyurethane the reclaimed wood, because when I get back to my parents house in May on the East Coast, my dad has already called dibs on helping me finish that and some other little stuff that I had to politely ask Rich, the builder, not to do. He is so OCD in a funny way it was hard for him to agree not to finish a couple of things so that me and my parents could do it together. He was so funny about it. And he such a nice guy.

Hey, your van looks great. I apologize if I missed it, but which van/model is the build on? Thanks!

Your builder Rich sounds like he is far and few between. Not easy to find someone that does van Conversions like yours. Quality work and knows what they’re doing. I’m looking to do a van conversion in about a year. Figured I would start looking now.. I am in the Northeast.. I wish your builder lived out this way I’m sure he would be at the top of my list.

Did he do all the plumbing & electric? This is the type of floor plan i've been looking for. Can i ask the ballpark figure for this build?
Thanks

Love the look of white cabinets with reclaimed wood! Are your cabinet screws covered with something other than paint? I'm about to paint the cabinets we just built, so might follow your lead on this. Thanks!

I’ll start taking and posting pictures over the next few days and during my next trip around SoCal next week.

We didn’t paint anything. We used laminated MDF because it is so clean, pretty, and very easy to keep clean. We ironed on the edging. And we used white screw caps for every screw in the cabinets, walls, ceiling etc. We achieved a really clean look, and I love the way the reclaimed wood doors & drawers pop out off of the clean white cabinets and bedframe. I was actually tempted to make a reclaimed wooden door for the shower, but I stopped myself at a very beautiful and simple black curtain .
Pictures of everything coming shortly.

Reflectix, R13 (the pink stuff), reflectix, then full wall panels. That keeps it pretty quiet in there- and I sleep at truck stops and rest areas all the time.

Thank you. Do you know the brand name of the R13 insulation and how thick it is? I am with you on night stops using truck stops, rest areas and Wallys of course while en-route.
