I forget Win... did you tell us your timeline for delivery? I wonder how long their backlog is.

They've told me that they "put my name on a van ready to go" and it should come in really soon. So I interpret that as something fell thru on a van already in production.

Since the option lists are really short on these, it's plausible that one with everything was really ready. Whether someone backed out, or if this was a slot already allocated to my dealer, I have no idea.

Of course non of this is in writing, and I don't have an exact date yet. So all of this has to be taken with a big dose of salt.

That sounded like luck... "good" luck if it actually does arrive quickly.

Default Pop-Top-Loft Aktiv 2.1

Resurrecting this Aktiv thread with the new Pop-top-loft option on the Aktiv that was presented at the Louisville show.

The link:
Erwin Hymer Group North America, Inc. Introduces New Hymer Loft edition at RVIA show in Louisville. - Go Hymer

Glad to see that Hymer is pursuing it's goal to bring Eurovan features to North America. I believe there is a market for this luxurious high-top "Westfalia style" Camper van. Families will finally be able to fit comfortably into a small B. It all makes sense to have 4 berths with the 4 belted seats of the van.

Will they buy it when you can get a C, at twice the size for less money. For baby boomers grand-children?

As discussed on the Hymer Aktiv group Facebook page the Pop-top appears to be a short Promaster not the extended 3500 one Hymer is promoting.

See rear bumper length on an original 2.0 photo.

Saw a nice pleated back-door screen option on that one.

Will they have enough room to offer it with AC on the flat portion of the roof and flexible solar panels on the pop-top?

Looking forward to see more photos and specs.

I suspect that the prototype in the photo was built on the short chassis 1.0, but that it will be built on the 3500 2.0... mainly to have space for the AC which is a North American necessity.

But I'm just guessing... there is little or no info out on it yet.

B-class for families is coming back, that is good news.

Hymer’s press release states that it will be built on the long chassis Aktiv 2.0.

That is what it says, but then they put out a photo of their prototype that is obviously on a 1.0... causing much confusion on the internets...

Default Sewer Hose Adapter?

Hi. I'm considering purchasing a Hymer Activ. I might consider snowbirding in AZ for a month or two. is bypassing the cassette with a sewer hose adapter possible? reasonable? inconvenient?

I never got the appeal of cassette and/or compost toilets. If I could camp without having to dump tanks at all, then I'd try a magic set up like that.

But if you have to dump your gray water anyway, the black tank is only one more pull on a valve. Yes, you have to flush it periodically, but don't tell me you don't need to flush a cassette toilet also. Just my opinion.

I definitely NEVER got the appeal of the composting toilet, but the cassette would have worked fine for me. It is just me and most of my trips are just a couple days. Plus I have no convenient place to dump in my summer home in MN.
